Implement benefit tracking model
- We quantify all business benefits in the business case. This includes financial and non-financial benefits;
- We set up the benefit tracking model, and define which data sources will be used;
- We apply our benefit tracking best practices;
- Business transformation programs, application replacement / development projects, infrastructure consolidation projects, outsourcing projects and service improvement initiatives all require a tailored approach.
Target reporting
- We periodically report on targeted benefits, for the full timespan of the business case;
- We formulate improvements.
Why?
- Business cases are usually created to justify change, but business benefits are often not tracked after the program, project or improvement initiative;
- As a consequence, the actual impact of the initiative is subject to ambiguity;
- Benefit tracking monitors the achievement of tangible results. Where needed, measures are identified to get target realisation back on track;
- Keeping track of realised benefits is a great motivator.
